Cleveland may not be known as a remodeling hotspot, with the attention shifted more towards sports. But something special is going on in Cleveland right now, and it’s giving homeowners a big leg up in the remodeling world.
First Ever Expo
Ending Sunday, March 16, Cleveland hosted its first ever Cleveland Home + Remodeling Expo, a three-day event designed to put easily available products and services for Cleveland remodelers under one roof.
The benefits of an expo are plenty: vendors can woo new customers in one fell swoop, with greater access than they’d normally receive during the rest of the year; customers don’t have to travel all over the city to shop for products and services they need; introducing new ideas, and big discounts are usually offered as companies try to be competitive.
Special Guests
For a city’s premier remodeling expo, the lineup of special guest experts is pretty impressive. Ty Pennington, who has morphed more into a remodeling celebrity than a solely hands-on remodeling expert, will be on hand to offer tips and advice.
As well, Ramsin Khachi, the renowned designer and remodeler from Canada opened the first day of the expo. Khachi also had a bit of help from the host of HGTV’s Rehab Addict, Nicole Curtis. Both Khachi and Curtis gave presentations on the first day, and will help wrap up Cleveland’s first remodeling expo on Sunday with Pennington.
Best Bang for Your Buck
Some common remodeling projects that homeowners undertake, and that can be taken care of at the Cleveland expo, include:
New cabinetry in the kitchen for an efficient, modern aesthetic that’s in line with current styles and trendsIf you’re not happy with the backsplash you have in your kitchen, you can find the right tiles that would look great, or go one step further and and install lights on the backsplashTools and materials to spruce up the outside of your house, like paint for salt-damaged sides, stone for your sidewalk, or a new front or back designFlooring remodels in the house, with the most commonly used areas being the kitchen and bathroomIf you really want to go all-out, crown mouldings never go out of style and are a subtle way of making any room more elegant
Coolest New Thing at the Expo?
Although a true expo introduces many new designs, ideas, products, services and features, there’s one the Cleveland that really seems to top all of them. It’s called the CasaBubble, and is sort of a combination between a gazebo and a blowup raft.
The result is a gazebo-like object that’s portable and easy to put up, except it has no framework. Instead of spines and walls, the CasaBubble has a self-adjusting turbine that helps it stay formed. It also is completely self-enclosed, which is a good thing on spring and summer days when bugs and pollen strike.
If you’re in the Cleveland area, you’re in luck because of their first ever Cleveland Home + Remodeling Expo, a remodeling expo that seems to be pulling out all the stops.
